Short answer: A freelance LinkedIn ghostwriter can cost from a few hundred dollars a month to a few thousand, depending on where they work, how many posts you get and what else is in the price. An agency usually bundles writing, design, posting, comments and reporting into one monthly fee, and an in-house hire means a full salary. Compare quotes by what is included, because the same price can buy very different amounts of work.
What you are paying for
A quote for "LinkedIn ghostwriting" can mean anything from a few drafts in a shared document to someone running your whole profile. Before you compare prices, check five things:
- Posts per month. How many, and written from your own ideas?
- Comments. Does anyone comment on other people's posts from your profile, and how often?
- Design. Are carousels or visuals included, or only text?
- Strategy. Is there a content calendar and a regular call?
- Reporting. Do you get a monthly report on what worked?
Two quotes at the same price can differ on all five.
Option 1: a freelance ghostwriter
Here are three real listings we checked on freelance marketplaces in November 2026:
- On Contra, a US-based writer lists LinkedIn ghostwriting from $3,500 a month for three pieces of content a week.
- On Contra, a writer based in India lists several plans, including $300 a month for 8 posts plus some commenting on peers' posts, and $500 a month for 12 posts, profile work, commenting and a monthly analytics snapshot.
- On PeoplePerHour, a UK freelancer sells a pack of 16 LinkedIn posts for £995.
Each is one listing, so treat them as examples of the spread. Some cover the writing only, others add commenting, profile work or a report. Ask whether the writer posts for you or hands over drafts.
LinkedIn ghostwriter cost in India. The Ken, an Indian business publication, reported in 2022 that freelance ghostwriters in India charged CXOs anywhere from US$400 to US$1,000 a month, depending on the number of posts. That figure is a few years old, and the India-based listing above starts lower.
LinkedIn ghostwriting rates in the UK. We found no UK survey that covers LinkedIn ghostwriting on its own. The closest benchmark is the ProCopywriters 2026 survey of UK freelance copywriters: most charge a day rate between £300 and £1,800, with a median of £440. That helps if a UK writer quotes by the day.
Good fit if you want one writer who learns your voice and you are happy to post, comment and track results yourself. Watch for what happens when the writer is ill, on holiday or moves on.
Option 2: a LinkedIn agency
An agency usually puts more than one person on your account. That tends to mean writing, design, posting, comments and reporting in one monthly scope, with cover when someone is away. Prices vary a lot by market and scope, so ask for the scope in writing.
As one data point, here are our own published starting prices, per account, per month:
- Presence: 8 posts (2 of them carousels or designed visuals), 40 comments on relevant posts, profile setup at the start, and a monthly calendar, report and strategy call. From $399 in the US, £299 in the UK, €349 in the EU, AED 1,499 in the UAE and ₹15,000 + GST in India.
- Presence + Engagement: 12 posts (4 of them carousels or designed visuals), 100 comments, up to 15 targeted connection requests a week, a profile refresh every quarter, a monthly report with a competitor check and 2 strategy calls. From $549, £419, €479, AED 1,999 or ₹25,000 + GST.
Our team writes, designs, posts and comments from your profile. You approve every post before it goes out, which takes about 10 minutes a week. Exact quotes follow a call, with a written scope.
Good fit if you want the whole job handled. Watch for posts that drift from your voice, and long contracts before you have seen any work.
Option 3: in-house, a hire or yourself
A hire. A hire means a salary. Here is what salary sites show for a social media manager:
- £34,520 a year on average in the UK (Indeed, updated August 2026)
- $65,744 a year on average in the US (Indeed, updated October 2026)
- ₹1.2 lakh to ₹10 lakh a year in India, for 1 to 8 years of experience (AmbitionBox, updated February 2025)
On top of salary come employer costs, tools and your time managing the person. A hire gets to know your business and can run the company page too, but one person often ends up doing the writing, design, comments and reporting alongside other work.
Yourself. Doing it yourself means no fee. You put in the hours each week to write, design, post and comment, and it is easy to stop when work gets busy. It works best if you enjoy writing and can keep a steady rhythm. Regular posting also seems to help with AI search, as our guide Does LinkedIn help you show up in ChatGPT? explains.
How to decide
- Write down the scope first. Posts a month, how many designed, comments a month, and whether someone posts for you.
- Get quotes against that scope. Ask each freelancer or agency to price the same list.
- Count your own time. A briefing call for every post adds up.
- Check the exit. Ask about notice periods and who keeps the drafts and visuals if you stop.
A rough rule: if you only need writing and will post and comment yourself, a freelancer can be the lowest cash cost. If you want writing, design, posting and comments handled together, compare agencies. If there is enough LinkedIn work for a full-time role, look at a hire.
